Matthew Remington Manion Applied Design is a fresh, energetic, and forward-thinking multidisciplinary firm based in Venice Beach, California. Before founding MRM|AD in 2015, Matthew studied at Texas Tech University and received his architecture degree in 2014. He has worked in the offices of Michael Imber, Domaen, Michael Maltzan, Francois Perrin, and James McGarry. Projects that Matthew has worked on have been featured in major publications, including Architectural Digest. MRM|AD provides conceptual design, construction documentation, permitting, consultant coordination, on-site construction supervision, and interior design services for residential and commercial projects. The firm approaches each project with an open mind and, rather than repeating a signature style, provides unique and creative design solutions tailored to each site and the client’s needs. Every design starts with a careful analysis of the site, climate, and history of the regional architecture. That analysis, along with the program requirements and understanding of the client’s specific needs, is integrated in the development of sustainable design solutions. Elemental principles such as sound, natural light, water management, passive HVAC, and natural air ventilation strategies are fundamental in the design approach. MRM|AD also believes in the collaborative design process by fostering longstanding inclusive relationships with clients, consultants, and contractors.
